Dharma Heels

Caroline and I have arrived safely in the neighborhood of Boudha in Kathmandu. I don’t think it’s an overstatement to say Caroline officially screamed when she stepped forward out of a narrow alleyway and came face to face with one of the largest stupas in world—Boudhanath Stupa— buzzing with circumambulations, prayers, prostrations, laughter, and mantras. No pictures, video, and descriptions do this place justice. It is still awe inspiring and amazing. I spent the late afternoon in prayer as I did kora around the stupa and let my love for this place consume me and inform me. Yet again, I felt my heart speak, “You will be spending a lot of time here…” I’m clicking my dharma heels together tonight and repeating, “There is no place like boudha, there is no place like boudha, there is no place like boudha, there is no place like home…”
